  • Responsible for Notes database development and administration for the 500+ users across the entire corporation. Win2000 servers & XP clients. Developed and/or maintained over 75 notes databases. Initially one of multiple contract firms doing Notes development but for the last 3 years client has used my services for outside work exclusively.
  • Redesigned client's Lead Management application to improve performance and increase functionality so it would be more widely accepted by the sales team. This was so successful, the client requested a follow-up system for realtor tracking.
  • Responsible for client's Notes R5 to R6 upgrade and R6 to R8 upgrade.
  • Consolidated 4 Notes servers down to 2 by streamlining applications, improving server housekeeping processes and guiding client to faster bandwidth connections.
  • Responsible for developing the business case to implement Postini as a 3rd party anti-spam solution. Postini took a tremendous load off the Notes servers, providing improved user response time for both mail and custom applications.
  • Handled client's Notes license renewal process annually.

  • Responsible for Notes database development and administration worldwide for the 550+ users in the E&PS division. Win2000 servers & XP clients. Developed and/or maintained over 150 notes databases during my assignment. Initially one member of a 5 person team but for the last 5 years, solely responsible for all Notes functions. Estimated savings to client – $350k annually.
  • Designed and deployed a Notes Scheduled Agent architecture with custom LotusScript Notes classes.
  • Supported and upgraded a customer service Email Tracking system. Estimated savings to client vs. packaged solution – $500k software and $500k annually.
  • Designed and deployed a Web Content Management System that is being used by 6 areas in the division. Estimated savings to client vs. packaged solution – $650k software and $100k annually.
  • Designed and deployed a custom Notes CRM solution used world-wide with automated email-in updates for contacts and user-requested automated email notification to marketing and sales team members when updates are posted for their contacts. Estimated savings to client vs. packaged solution – $250k software and $100k annually. The division’s VP of Marketing was a key contributor to the requirements and enhancements for this solution, as well as a primary user.
  • Designed and deployed a Web Ticket Tracking System using Domino, HTML, JavaScript and CSS. The division’s Director of Web Development was a key contributor to the requirements and enhancements for this solution, as well as a primary user.
  • Designed and deployed the first hosted Web Service in the organization using .NET, C# and Lotus Notes as the back end data repository.
  • Designed and deployed a custom solution for the Finance area to help them document their processes and controls to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 302. The division’s VP of Finance was a key contributor to the requirements and enhancements for this solution, as well as a primary user.
  • Implemented the first clustered Notes servers in the organization.
  • Implemented several new R6 administrative features including: network compression, Certificate Authority, client SmartUpgrade, remote server console, Admin Policies.
  • Planned and led the Notes R5 Upgrade project and the Notes R6 Upgrade project.
  • Reduced the number of Dallas Notes servers from 7 to 2. Estimated savings to client $30k hardware and $12.5k licensing annually.
  • Setup a stand-alone Notes domain in Belgium for a key vendor used by the organization. Trained the vendor’s users on R5 and trained the vendor’s Network Admins to perform basic Notes Admin support. Produced a Basic Notes Admin Procedures guide as a deliverable and used it on 2 follow-up visits to monitor the vendor’s continued compliance with the requirements put forth in this document.
  • Negotiated contracts with third party vendors on behalf of my client for special services such a fractional T1 service and Notes end-user training classes and materials.

Responsibilities included analysis, design, coding, testing, installation, production support, new user training, strategic planning, business process improvement consulting and systems administration for both the production and development Notes environments. Key contributor to the planning, design, coding, testing and implementation of the first IBM CSO National Notes databases.
  • Deployed Notes and provided Systems Administration Support for the local Dallas Sykes office.
